Seven Men's Gymnasts Honored As All-America Scholar-Athletes

CHICAGO - The UIC men's gymnastics team not only enjoyed success in competition in 2010, but in the classroom as well as seven UIC men's gymnastics team members have been honored as College Gymnastics Association 2010 All-America Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced on Thursday.

Current University of Oklahoma women's coach and 2010 NCAA Coach of the Year KJ Kindler leads us through some drills and progressions she likes to use to teach front aerial walkovers, and specifically front aerial walkovers to two feet, for beam. Melanie Root provided the demonstrations, since she is trying to upgrade this skill for her beam routine. Thanks Melanie and KJ!

In total, four Broncos recorded GPAs of 4.0 and 11 of the team's 15 members had GPAs of 3.5 or better, earning individual honors.
